CHRISTMAS DECORATIONS by Will and Nicole

Well we made Christmas decorations and we had fun making them.  We had lots of different coloured paper.  We made many  different things  with Mrs Adams.  Before that we made Christmas boxes.  Then we made Christmas balls.   We had to score the Christmas balls and we had to glue them together and cut them out.  My favourite one was the little boxes(Will).  My favourite one was the Christmas balls.(Nicole) When I go home I am putting my Christmas ball on my Christmas tree (Nicole).  When I get home I am putting my box on my wall says Will.

CYCLE SAFETY by Felix and Sebastian

On Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, Mr Tonkin came to the middle syndicate classes.  He made us check our friends' bikes. We needed to check our chains,  if it can be straddled and we also had to check the handlebars. We also had lots of slow races to check our stability.  We also learnt how to adjust our helmets and  we had to check our brakes. Finally we had to do about four obstacle courses  which showed our control.

HOBBIES by DAYNA, INDIA, WILL T and CALVER

Hobbies has been really fun for Rooms five and six.  You could do flax weaving, painting, chess games, strategy board games or mosaic bottles.  Dayna did  flax weaving and India did strategy board games.
We really liked hobbies.  It was superb.  It was good to do something different.  We all enjoyed doing stuff we have not done or what we made/played and everything we did turned out ok.  We can't wait until next year's hobbies.  Dayna would like to do painting.  India too.  by Dayna  and India.

We made sculptures in term 2 for our oral language. We had two and a half weeks to make our sculptures. Some people got their parents to help them make the sculptures. The Friday people were lucky because they got more time. The sculptures looked fantastic, because everyone had put so much effort into them.   Miss Mora didn't put any effort in them because she didn't need to !!  There were prizes.   Layla came 1st, Elliott came 2nd and Niamh came 3rd.

CLAY FACE MAKING

We made clay faces out of brown  and white clay.  We made people faces, animal faces and monster faces.  Hana made a cat and  Gen made a person's face.  Most people made an animal.  Boys did monsters and not many people did people.  Most people chose the white clay but some people wanted the brown.  The clay dried on our hands but we had to live with it till we were finished.  Our clay faces turned out fabulous but some people's ears came off and whiskers off the cats.

BRIDGE VALLEY CAMP

We had go-carts to ride.

There was slug gun shooting. There were rabbits  and bottles to shoot.

 The best part about camp was being in the lake because it was really fun going down the hydro-slide and bouncing on the aqua-tramp. The hydro-slide was really fun because you went on mats which made it faster.

BRIDGE VALLEY CAMP

We had racing trikes to ride in the activities .
I had to use a pillow because I was not big enough.

 In the option I chose kayaking and I got wet .
Other people did the kayaking as well as me

Bridge Valley Camp 2nd - 4th April 2012

 Everyone had a fabulous time at Bridge Valley.
All of the kids and parents showed great enthusiasm and were willing to give everything a go!



The weather was perfect, the food was delicious, the company was awesome and the activities were challenging and fun.

School Garden by Taylor

We worked in the school garden because we are studying horticulture.  I was emptying the compost LOL!!   The best bit was going over the bump.   It was Fun.   It was like the bump on Needfulspeed.   I was putting the compost on the garden because we were planting some potatoes. :)

This is my collage of my goals. Miss Mora brought some magazines from her house .  We cut out pictures out and and glued them on to card. I have got swimming, rugby, fishing, soccer, running and cooking.  These are my interests for the year.

MY GOALS. by POPPY

These are my goals for 2012.   We cut things out of magazines.   We did them because we need to keep track of what our goals are.  One of my goals is to go to Auckland.  Another is to get  new bike.  I'd also like to learn hip-hop and to get some pet fish.
